Adelbert Nelissen (Netherlands),
is the founder, director and senior teacher of the Kushi Institute of Europe, one of the world’s leading centers on macrobiotic education.
Since over 35 years he has lectured all over Europe as well as Asia, Africa, America and the Middle East. His audience includes farmers, housewives, medical doctors, nutritionists, educators, politicians, landscape architects, midwifes, businessman, acupuncturists, massage therapists. He is one of the pioneers in the natural organic food movement and introduced and developed since 1970 hundreds of products for the European market, including price winning sourdough breads, tofu products, sugar-free natural sweeteners and many fermented plant-based products.
Together with his wife Wieke Nelissen he is the inspiring force behind the International Macrobiotic Conferences and the Leadership Programs the Art of Life School, the Art of Cooking School and Women’s & Family Health where thousands of students from over 100 countries in the last 35 years shared their knowledge and insights and were able to start hundreds of centers and businesses.
Adelbert Nelissen designed The Ideal Food Pattern for Humanity, explained clearly in a brochure, comparing the Modern Food Pattern and its consequences on health, ecology, global warming and world peace, and will be available in 10 different languages.
Adelbert has five children and eight grandchildren.
