Ryan Shiotani (Japan),
began studying Iyengar yoga and Ashtanga vinyasa yoga in 1994 in Los Angeles. He completed the teacher training program at Synergy Yoga Centerin Miami and began teaching in 1998. In 2002, Ryan moved to Boston to continue his yoga studies under the guidance of Karin Stephan, a practitioner of both Iyengar yoga and macrobiotics for over thirty years. Beyond his studies of yoga, Ryan has held various positions in television, most recently working for the B.B.C in Singapore.
Ryan has lived in the U.S.,France and Brazil and holdsa B.A. in Latin American Studies from Yale University. He completed Level 2 of the Art of Life School in 2004 and is grateful for the opportunity to share the gift of yoga with fellow travellers on the path of macrobiotics.
Early Morning Yoga
Wear light cotton clothes. Do this workshop every morning and you will feel lighter and be more flexible. Including sun salutations and basic yoga postures, with the focus on body alignment.
A little more advanced Yoga, for those who want to do more effort, with a personal approach.
These are classes in which Ryan teaches yoga postures to help relieve stress and fatigue, with the use of props like bolsters and blankets to help support the body and allow for deeper relaxation.
