During her studies music in Utrecht, Ayumi came in contact with the Alexander Technique in 1996, and saw the possibilities for musicians and artists. It radically changed her stage attitude and body freedom. For the past 8 years, Ayumi has been teaching the Alexander Technique to musicians, dancers and other artists in Amsterdam and Japan.
Alexander Technique for Better Posture
The Alexander technique teaches the ability to improve physical postural habits, particularly those that have become ingrained or are conditioned responses. The technique is purported to improve performance, self-observation and impulse control and relieve chronic stiffness, tension and stress.
