Menus are created with international flavours as each year our participants travel from across the world. People of more than 40 nationalities regularly attend.
In the macrobiotic kitchen we use organic ingredients. These include whole grains, seasonal vegetables, beans and bean products (tofu, tempeh and natto), sea vegetables, seeds, nuts, seasonal fruits, fish, plant-based oils and various natural condiments.

Healing drinks and special dietary requirements

Special medicinal drinks are available upon request
The choices include strengthening drinks such as ume-sho-kuzu, ume-sho-ban and adzuki drink. Cleansing drinks are also available such as daikon drink or carrot-daikon-lotus drink.
Relaxing drinks, such as the famous sweet vegetable drink or hot apple juice, are also offered.
Food for babies and young children, and food for special dietary requirements will be available upon request.

Café de la Paix

The Café de la Paix is a popular meeting place during the conference
Here you will find freshly prepared macrobiotic snacks, pastries, desserts and delicious drinks that can be enjoyed between classes or during breaks.
The terrace next to the Café is a fantastic area for re-connecting with old friends and meeting new acquaintances from across the world. It is open until late at night with music and dancing - so come along and join in!

Deshima Natural Food Shop

Deshima is a macrobiotic quality food company of the Kushi Institute of Europe

The Deshima shop offers high quality organic and macrobiotic food, kitchen utensils, ceramics, plus a variety of books in several languages. Each week during the conference, teachers and authors will be available to sign copies of their books.
